Somrus Wines:
Our name Somrus Wines has its origins from more than 5000 years ago, when the first series of wines made in India in 3000 years BC were called ‘Somrus’.
It was the early European travelers to the courts of the Mughal emperors Akbar and Shah Jehan in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries that tasted Indian wines from the royal vineyards and discovered the taste of Somrus incredibly extraordinary. Red wines were made from the Arkesham grapes and White wine from Arkawati; the quality grapes found in Central India where Mumbai - The Commercial Capital and entertainment hub of India - Bollywood is located.
Somrus Wines bounds the rich Indian Wine culture with sun-drenched vineyards of South Australia, where blue skies meet the rolling lush green vineyards, clear and nature bound air to produce quality fruits. The wine is then cultured by the traditional wineries being run by dedicated families from many generations.
